Alyssas almost 6 months so we will be weaning next week
Now obviously we will be starting with babyrice and neocate
Dietion said because weaning is now 6 months instead of 4 months babys move from puree to foods quickly
We have to wean her, Dairy, soy, gluten, nut and egg free and on low sals (we will trial moderate after a while, going to trial animes first)
Things i can think of to give her is
Pear puree (and home made pear jelly)
Porrage (made with certified gluten free oats)
and yeah thats about as much as i can think of

White potato and swede mash down well.

This thread might have some ideas.

There is a blow by blow account of foods that a few ladies weaned with on that thread.
Our list given by dietician for the low chemical diet and allergy free (all allergins) as follows:
potato
chicken
pear
choko
swede
green beans
lamb
beef
rice bran oil
low chemical homemade vege/chicken stock
rice
quinoa porridge
millet porridge
the puffed versions of the above grains
gluten free bread
brussel sprouts cooked for no longer than 5 mins so no gas producing sulphur released
gee/dairy free margarine
cabbage (green/red) cooked for no longer than 5 mins so no gas producing sulphur released
leek (small amounts)
there are more but getting harder to remember
-
Interesting about the sprouts and cabbage ;)
-
yeah that goes for the whole onion/leek family, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage family, brussels. But the way it was put to me was that the wind would only be painful/annoying for a gut that is supersensitive, or immature, i.e 6-8 months, so as they get older is would create wind but easily dealt with.
I am thinking Ollys wind is a part of something a bit more than just sulphur, don't you?
-
Yes, I don't give him anything that is notoriously windy anyway ;)
-
only problem is thats really limited on finger foods we are having gluten free bread issues they all have either dairy or eggs urg which is a pain because bread perfect finger food
-
keep looking for that bread...... I found dairy and egg free gluten free bread, I had to buy and order online through from an allergy website.
-
Dietary specials do a GF/DF/EF bread but it does have soy in it. You can buy it most supermarkets I think. Otherwise I have only found Ener-G which sains used to do but you must be able to get online. Can get on prescription as our dietician has prescribed it for us this week.
