Hi everyone
My DS seems to be allergic to casein which is a milk protein used in some forumla milks esp. hungry baby milks. He comes up in rash so i've switched whey based milk.
I'm hoping that he will grow out of it and that dairy foods will not be an issue. Hes nearly 5 months now.
Was wondering if anyone has any advice?

Bumping for you x

I did a bit of googling and found that most kids outgrow it by the age of 7 :) Have you had him tested for an actual allergy?

Hi Kara
Thanks so much for your link, was very helpful. Not had him tested yet but have tried two brands of hungry baby milk and both gave him rash. Ingredients in both contain casein, so went back to first stage milk and he seems fine (no rash). I will definitely get him tested.
Thanks

He could have an intolerance to the milk protein alsol which won't show up on any tests. The only way to test is by elimination, as you are doing. He will need to have a dairy free diet - may be able to tolerate some lesser dairy items like butter and cheese. Time will tell. They usually become less sensitive as they get older. 1 year old seems to be a milestone.
