Title: My 7.5 month old wont eat ANY vegetables?!!!
Post by: mummy of 3 littlies on July 04, 2011, 12:32:48 pm
Hi,

I have been trying since the start of weaning to feed my lo vegetables but he gags and coughs as soon as they enter his mouth...
He loves to eat fruit and yoghurts but NO vegetables.

Is there any advice as to how to get him to eat them??

Any thoughts please??

Sera

You can puree vegetables and mix them with the yogurt. Start with really small quantities since it seems he has issues with the texture. You can also mix some veg with some fruits, especially the orange/yellow ones like squash and carrots, as they're sweet enough to mix.

exactly what Deb says!...some yummo combos are
pear and pumpkin (nice and sweet)
apple and sweet potato
Actually I often put a fruit cube in with mixed veges poor DS of mine wont know what is what when he gets older lol :P

Not sure how old your LO is or if he has intolerance's but my DS loves anything with cheese sauce in it (1 cube to say 4 of veges) you could try this too :-*

Some LOs just don't like the texture of pureed veg.  I agree try mixing them with something else.  But you may find too he starts enjoying them more when he gets to finger foods.  :)

Have you tried finger foods yet?  You could try mixing them into some potato cakes?  Spinach and mashed broccoli work well with this.
