I know you are meant to cook pear before giving it to babies (shame DH didn't and gave him raw pureed pear ::) ) - Oliver now has a red, raw bottom and I am assuming it is from the pear (he is usually great with (cooked) pear.
Just wondering why cooked is so much better than raw. Also, when can you give it raw?

I dont know I would normally give it to them raw when ever i wanted but its horrible to purree raw lol so i cook it
is it possible it wasnt quite ripe?

I think it was or it would have been even harder to puree - maybe it wasn't! Will need to have a think if it was anything I ate instead (soya gives him a sore bottom too but I def didn't have any ...)
