Title: independent activity ideas for spirited 1.5yo please
Post by: huntersmummyinoz on September 10, 2011, 03:32:02 am
hiya,

ds1 has started speech therapy and i need to do 'homework' activities with him 3 x day for 10-15mins. so i need some more activity ideas for ds2 to do to keep him busy and quiet whilst we do this. i get one session in during ds2 nap but have 2 other sessions each day.

so would love some new ideas that keep your LO busy and happy independently.

TIA  :-*

What about a watering can to water the garden (or a bottle that drips out if you don't want him to get too wet!)

Or a damp cloth to wash the windows or the coffee table?

J (and E actually) loves to do both those things!

clean paint brush and bucket full of water for him to 'paint the house/deck/car/whatever'
empty egg carton, spoons, scoops, a bowl of rice, a cup of water and some shakers with spices
a clean cookie sheet or two, shaving cream to smear all over the sheet, and child buckled into chair
how about usually 'off limits' stuff- office supplies always intrigued Nick- envelopes, his own scotch tape, hole punch.
very shallow kiddie pool with boats/vehicles- barely water in there with your eyes on him- shaving cream in tub on walls too for finger painting.
