Well you know they do go through the phase of being scientists, where they drop stuff to see what will happen. Do you think it's something more than that?

I am not going to be much help as or diet is so restricted but what about things like rice cakes, vege puffs (we have them in UK not sure about other countries??), dried fruit - sultanas, pancakes, soy cheese?

We have fruit, fruit, fruit and more fruit. She's tried it all...fresh, dried...you name it.  :) Are you in the UK? I still give her rusks for finger food too, good source of vits etc too although fairly high in sugar. I also give DD alot if 'Goodies' things. Like the crisps and ricecakes for babies.

Breadsticks and a dollop of hummus are a winner here too.

Lots and lots of our food ends up on the floor here too. I realy try hard not to stress about her food intake but it is so hard with a dairy intolerant LO not to.

Same here :( As for finger food, if he's more interested in throwing it on the floor I hold it for him - mean Mama ;)

I am in the US.

Meal times have become a time of me trying to give her food, she takes 1 bite spits it out and cries.  I give her something else, she wont even touch it.  It is me trying a million things one after the other and her just crying and crying.  I finally give her some rice cereal with some fruit or something like that because she refuses to eat anything else.  I just am at a loss.   I've never had a baby who didn't LOVE to feed themselves so they loved it when I gave them other things to eat.  It seems she just doesn't want to eat anything but purees.

Is she teething?

My daughter was that way until closer to 18 months at least. I think it just takes longer for some kids for it to click. Especially if there are any compounding factors like reflux or teething...

I think she might be Jess.  I don't see anything, but I have been giving her tylonol at night for it.  I will try giving it to her before she eats and see if that helps.

I made these for my LO using all broccoli for the vegetable.  They were a hit:  http://www.cookingtf.com/2011/06/23/crocodile-nuggets/

These are some dairy free finger foods:

http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2011/08/sugar-free-little-ginger-cakes.html
http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2011/08/meatloaf-for-babies-and-toddlers.html - miss out the cheddar or use soy cheddar
http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2011/07/no-added-sugar-apple-and-sultana-mini.html - you could switch the milk for apple juice
http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2011/05/restaurants.html - you could switch the milk for soy milk
http://mamacook.blogspot.com/2011/04/no-added-sugar-date-loaf.html - switch the butter for dairy free margarine and switch the milk for soy milk

This comes up so often, I think I'll start putting in dairy free alterations to recipes.  I'm working on a sultana loaf today which is dairy free as well, I'll keep you posted...

Ah the sultana loaf wasn't all that successful.  Sorry!

Are you after finger foods for any occasions?  It's really dependent on how she is with finger foods.  My son would throw anything big on the floor but would zoom through peas or broad beans.  You might find some not obvious finger foods like rice or small pasta works better than the big stuff?  My son started trying with a spoon around this age too.  Although it regularly went on the floor, he started to get the odd spoonful in his mouth.

ok, so not teething and still wont touch anything but crackers, finally got her to touch frozen corn, and peas (while she was teething) and bananas.  if I put any bread or anything she touches it with 1 finger and refuses to touch it unless she is throwing it on the floor.  Ideas on how to help her???

My son still won't eat bread or toast that well in large pieces but if I tear it into smaller pieces he will.
