DS2 is 5.5 months. I just gave him sweet potato for the first time today and tonight I realized his first tooth really seems to be making it's way in. I can feel it a little bit but he is gnawing on anything he can get his hands on and seems really fussy. I'm wondering if starting solids along with a tooth coming through for the first time will complicate things? Maybe I should hold off on solids until the tooth has broken through or maybe it doesn't matter? Any thoughts???

Bumping this for you

How are things going?

I think if you wait, you'll be waiting till they're 2 years old! Babies are always teething! I reckon go for it if your LO's ready and just accept it will go off course sometimes.

I know we need to just get it over with. I think I had bad timing when I first introduced the sweet potato and he had been awake too long to sit there. I admittingly haven't given him anything the past couple days. It's just so hard to time things with a 3 year old too. I'm planning on trying again about 45 mins after his next bf. Hopefully it goes well and hopefully this first tooth hurries up and stops taking it's sweet time to come through!!!

He is young still so you could wait a few more days and try again. Don't put too much pressure on yourself hunx

I did try today and he did much better! I think time just got away from me before and I did it too close to nap time. Looks like I'll be making more baby food this weekend!
