DS2 is just over 1 year and is on Neocate for MPI - totally weaned off meds now and I'm trying to find a good time between teething and illness to trial more dairy. He's never drunk much milk in one sitting anyway due to his reflux but he can usually do about 5-6oz on a good day. He drinks his morning bottle fine and some days has one in the afternoon - never drinks more than 4oz at this one but his bedtime one has become a joke. A few weeks ago he would drink a good 3-4oz of it and then I would dreamfeed him another 2-3 oz (not ideal I know but its the only way I can get the milk into him!) but now I'm lucky if he will take 1oz at bedtime which then leads to a NW about 1.5-2hrs later when he's finally decided that he does want to drink milk and then he will polish off 4-5 oz. I've tried making sure he gets his dinner nice and early so he's not too full from that. Not really sure where to go from here - should I drop that afternoon bottle altogether and see if that helps? Anyone been in a similar situation? Ideally I would also like to drop the dreamfeed and have him take a decent feed at bedtime then he will easily sleep through but he's not going to do that one 1oz of bedtime bottle.
I should probably say that his reflux is totally under control - he's completely weaned off his meds now.

I would cut him down to 2 bottles Rachel... he only needs 12-16 ozs of milk at a year :)

Thanks kara - didn't know what the recommended amounts were at 1 year. Will cut that afternoon bottle and see if it helps.

Let us know what happens after a few days to trial the change ;)

Still the same last night after no afternOon bottle - will give it a few more days!

Give it a few more days... have you moved his solids up earlier to account for the missed bottle?

Yeah - both my boys are eating like horses at the moment, it's like a swarm of locusts pass through my kitchen several times a day! We had a but more success last night. I gave it to him at the start of his bedtime wind down while we were just chilling out and he drank much more so will try that approach again tonight.

We just survived that a few weeks ago! Now I have a chronic snacker ;)
Fingers crossed that you have figured out what will work!

Did the same again tonight - we might have cracked it!
