I've been looking at some beautiful quiet book pages you can make.. do these quiet books work? Are kids/toddlers interested in them- making it worth making them- or do they just look at them like any book, and put them aside. Some seem to have a lot of work in them- and if they are used by the kids then no probs.. but otherwise....
Any thoughts?

I just googled it. They look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
I would say it's a labour of love, if you like handy crafts, sewing, embroidery, appliqué and so on then you should make one, enjoy making it and enjoy LO 'reading' and playing with it.
If you aren't really into needle crafts then just buy one of the many great fabric books that are on sale (or for that matter the textured activity toys), they have lots of different textures to touch and feel and in my experience LOs love them and will play with them for ages.
I'm sure if you made one of these quiet books your boy would love it to bits, and what a lovely keepsake too, could be passed on to his children!

Thanks creations... they do look sweet.. i do like crafting, and am getting inspired by some cute sewing projects... but would be learning my way a bit! Sounds like it wouldn't be a waste though!

Hun I love quiet books, and activity ones...actually may be the same thing lol.I just got a pattern to make my own...if you are that way inclined here is the pattern I got, you can customize ;)

Zac loves his fabric books which really seem to be a much more basic version for babies. But the toddler ones are so much more interactive.

My mum made one for me when I was little (I'm 25 and still have it :)). My DS loves it, as has every other kid 0-3YO who has seen it. I think they're definitely worth the effort. I find they're better if you 'read' the book with them rather than expect them to play with it by themselves, but I do wonder if my MR Independent won't decide he wants to do it himself when he's a little older.
