Title: Not enough time for solids after nursing and before nap
Post by: lady5280 on February 23, 2012, 02:12:01 am
My guy has just started solids. Sometimes our EASY is more like AEAS, meaning he doesn't eat immediately after waking because his nap was short, or a NW/feed was close to his wakeup time so we have to wait to eat. And even on days when he wakes right after eating I'm not sure how to space out the solids. We were waiting like an hour after nursing, but his doc says wait more than an hour after nursing bc he will eat better and this will help him get to a 4 hour EASY. Problem is, sometimes there just isn't time for solids if nursing doesn't take place until halfway through A time because he's ready for a nap before it's time for solids IYKWIM.

Any thoughts? He got breakfast this morning but didn't eat much bc it had only been an hour since nursing. And we had to skip dinner solids altogether bc we didn't want to keep him up just to eat them.....tricky!

At 5 months I really wouldn't worry!  I started with one meal around 10am then I moved to 10am & 3pm ish but at 5 months it doesn't matter if he has solids at all!
