Title: eating too much puree?
Post by: MommyMoulton on March 02, 2012, 14:14:42 pm
Ok DS is 7.75month and a big eater. Finally he is eating veggies better. However now I'm thinking he's eating too much puree and I may be APOP by not giving him enough finger foods

Typical breakfast. 2-3 tbsp infant cereal, one jar of purred fruit, and 2 tbsp of yogurt. Then he will eat 15 or so cheerios. Then appears full/starts throwing food.

Lunch-2-3tbsp infant cereal, 1/2 jar veggies or equal amount of a purred meal of what I'm eating like alphabet noodles in sauce, one jar of fruit, finger food.  2 or 3 cucumber slices and 2 grapes.

Supper 2-3 tbsp of infant cereal, jar of fruit, 1/2 jar or veggies or equivalent, finger foods of what we are having for supper, someymes he has 2 tsp of corn cernals.

My issue is that I could probably get him to eat more puree as he will still open for more even if the spoon is empty. Should he be eating more finger foods now? Or offer more puree?

If more finger food I need some ideas.

Thanks
Melissa

I would def introduce some finger foods for him to play with, suck on, chew up. There are loads of ideas on this board. :D
