Title: Starting Rice Cereal
Post by: rayasunshine on June 19, 2012, 04:13:13 am
Just a quick question that I can't find an answer to on the boards- what amount do I feed ds when I start cereal? Another question- as he usually wakes at 5am and then nurses shortly after...do I offer him cereal at 630am or wait to offer after his first nap? I totally can't remember what I did with dd 3.5yrs ago lol! Thanks for the help :)

I started with just a teaspoon or 2.  At first it is really all about learning to eat off the spoon.  And you could offer him cereal at 6:30am or even an hour after his 2nd feed would work also.

I would start with a spoon or 2 but a bit later on in the day TBH.

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the suggestions! 630am sounds way too early to be feeding him cereal so I will offer it to him after his first nap. But if it's milk time, I offer milk first and then an hour or so later offer cereal? It's confusing with his wake up time being so early...
