Title: NEOCATE LCP formula
Post by: pinkladyangel on February 17, 2013, 09:08:10 am
Hi all
Our LO has been really unsettled since four months (he's now 5 months) and we've now been prescribed with neocate lcp formula. I just wondered if anybody else has used this formula and what their thoughts on it are. The reason for asking is that R has only had 3 feeds of it and he won't drink very much of it. He was on 7oz of formula 4 times a day. Teatime yesterday he had 5 out of 7 oz. His bedtime he only had 5oz again and this morning I thought he would be starving he only had 3 and a half oz. He's lucky that he can afford to lose a bit of weight but obviously I dont want him to lose too much. The milk smells and tastes foul (yes I've tasted it lol) but I've heard that its a fantastic milk for our lo to be on. We didn't even have to put up a fight to get it. Our ped is brilliant just a little slack at returning calls.
Any thoughts would be gratefully recieved.

It does smell and taste foul - I agree!! I would give him a few more days to get used to the change!

We are on neocate gold lcp and T is only just starting to drink more than 5oz bottles.
It is absorbed and has very little waste so your LO may not need as much. :-\

If you think part of the problem is taste try putting a drop of golden syrup in it for a few days, en ditch it. Works a treat :-*

That's good news! It does take a bit of getting used to but it was great for my ds2.

Sorry! Have yet another question.
Bit of a gross one. What were your lo dirty nappies likr. Our lo is quite loose at the moment. Think it may be down to teething and also he's full of cold.

Dark green smells like sulpher/rotten eggs ::) often quite runny or like soft toothpaste ;)

haha - just today DP was explaining a terrible poo he had to change while I was away and he said "it was green and pungent smelling"

This post made me laugh, he thought it was a one off ;)
