Title: Smileys.... Is it me...?

Or have some of the smileys changed ??? Or is it to do with people posting from their phone or something?? It's just that some of them suddenly look a bit... Well, more modern..??! Ok just checking...

I've seen people posting emoticons from their iPhones-but I assumed only other iPhone/iPad users could see them??

Laura they're just emoticons but there's an app called emoji that has the most ridiculous array of emoticons you've ever seen, like I can write entire messages to people comprised of little pics ;D

Yes charli those are what I am seeing! I am on my ipad, never noticed them before. So do you have an app that does those? Why would anyone do that??! Enlighten me!

Most people have them as an app for text messages so you can supplement your text with hilarious and informative emoticons ☕

I can't see the emoticons because I am on my laptop but am curious if they will come up on my android!! ???

I don't know if it's just an apple thing or a smart phone/tablet thing in general, I'm interested to know!

nope on android it is totally blank, not even the little squares i could see in windows.  gonna have to go get emoji now!

Fair point! It took me years to even get my head around apps at all, still not sure I entirely understand it!

totally blank when I am on my blackberry too...I had always wondered about the squares though, now I know why they are there!

I downloaded a free app (emoji) then followed their instructions to add another keyboard to my keyboard... It actually wasn't 🚀science  😄

I think I am gonna use these all the time now ... ;D

Funny thing is, some of them seem to come through on firefox on linux and some are just the little squares.
