Title: Constipated LO
Post by: SukieCat on March 18, 2013, 17:26:13 pm
DS has been eating solid foods since he was 5 mo.  He's now 11mo and we've been dealing with constipation off and on for the past week or so.  He's still going once per day, but sometimes his poops are very solid and he grunts a lot to get them out.  I'm wondering if I should change what I'm feeding him.  He's still getting 4 bottles per day (just found out I'm supposed to be transitioning from bottles to snacks... going to start working on that this week), and he eats 3 solids meals.  He gets oatmeal in the morning, fruit and yogurt for lunch, and veggies plus whatever we're eating for dinner.  He also gets some puffs or cheerios while I make him food.  When he gets constipated I try to increase the amount of fruit he eats and sometimes give him a little bit of juice, although he hasn't gotten the sippy cup figured out yet so he really doesn't drink much outside of his bottles.  Any suggestions on what I should change to help with the constipation?

Thanks!

Try adding some prunes or prune juice to his fruit ;)

:-* no problem. My 5 mth old gets terrible constipation.
For us pears and prunes in everything helps.
