My son who is nearly 1 has been having bad NWs this week. Now that could be to do with the 2-1 transition or wonder weeks or teething or a million other things, but I thought this morning I did start introducing milk to his formula this week. I've been doing two or three oz in a 6-8 oz bottle. Has anyone heard of this?

It could be the milk ... Any other symptoms of him not tolerating it or it upsetting him? - how are poops? Is he happy in himself? Eating well? Any eczema or refluxing?
If your not sure you could just ditch it, and try again in a month. If you get the same symptoms, you then know...
Hugs x

Ps your avatar is Devine! Cutiepie!

He has slightly dry skin but doc told me it wasn't eczema and quite common but I have it and am a bit funny about milk. What I might do is keep it in his am bottle and not in pm and bedtime and do non dairy food and see if we get a better night. Here's hoping! Thanks for replying and saying he's a cutie!

Good luck! As you say it's a terrible age with WW and teeth too.
Nap/s ok?
-
Generally ok, the first one is getting later and later which means the CN before bed is sometimes a bit tricky!
-
You can try a short AM, longer PM nap if he starts to refuse a late CN :)

Hi Kara,
I am beginning to think I need to do that as I have changed his diet (taken cow's milk out of all his food and only in his morning bottle) and it's 3.55am and I've been up for the last 2 hours (plus with a couple of replugs before then!) with him.
I'll post on the other board for specific advice! Thanks *said through very bleary eyes*

Hugs hun... those long NWings are brutal!
Any chance it's 1yr molars?
-
Hugs. We have ridiculous long NW too so sympathise :-*

I'm glad you lot get it! Sometimes you feel like the only person in the world going through it!
Well last night's wakings did remind me of bad teething we had earlier this year when his 4 top teeth came in at once. Is it obvious when they're coming through? But hard to see that far back in his mouth!
-
They take ages to come down. I sometimes put some teething gel on my finger and have a good feel around. You may feel them bumpy.
More hugs...no one tells you a out all e reasons your kid won't sleep before you have kids!

I did the same as Sara.. by this age, DD had a sign for teething gel ::) It's the only one I taught her so I would know when her teeth were the cause of her screaming and such! Once she knew there was gel on my finger, she would let me feel around in her mouth.. I always found her gums were lumpy or just plain raw feeling when teeth were coming in...
-
Thanks for the tips ladies. I must admit I haven't given teething gel much of a go as I always found it would slide off my finger and go on the wrong bit of his mouth! I will try again - might be easier if you're shoving it down the back!!

LOL! Just the tiniest amount is all you need and I find a wee bit will stay put better! I even rub it between my two forefingers and then go in for the application on both sides at the same time :)
