Title: spitting
Post by: twogirlsmommy on August 22, 2013, 11:53:02 am
dd is 5 months old and for the past couple of weeks we have started solids.  My question is when will she stop spitting EVERYTHING out? I know its not the most important thing but I'm getting super frustrated with this as dd1 never went thru this.

What have you started with?  Dd2 didnt like cereals and they mostly came out because she didnt like the taste, so I gave up for a bit, then moved on to other foods.  Now that we are trying other things that actually have taste she is swallowing more  :)

We've tried both rice cereal and oatmeal, peas and green beans.

If it is everything then maybe she just isn't ready? Give it another week or two and start again?

I think she is ready.  She sits on her own and is constantly grabbing food off our plates.  This morning she tried to swipe her sisters cereal.  Our ped always said start cereal first, then the green veggies, then the orange then fruit.  We did that with dd1 and she still to this day only eats the orange veggies so does it really matter what I introduce next?  Can I start with some fruit or some orange veggies?

I started with sweet potato with both girls and they liked it.  Then I did squash, and some fruits, then green veggies.  It worked well with dd1, shes an awesome eater.  Tbh, I dont think it really matters what you start with  ;D
