Title: Spit up through nose flailing arms
Post by: Chloevalentine on September 16, 2013, 14:43:49 pm
my 11 week old spits up and it comes through his nose! He gets so scared and flails his arms.  He does a straight back and arches it. I try to put him on his side so that it comes out more easily without choking him.  I guess it must feel like he's drowning. Poor baby. But I burp him and keep him seated upright after feeding. This even happens 2 hours after he's feeding.  Every so often he will also get gassy and cranky with spit up that looks like spoiled milk but its only once in a while. Any suggestions

Hun
It sounds like reflux to me, as that is the same symptoms ds had Around that age.
Have you taken him to the doctor about it before, have you had a,look on the colic reflux section.

I did mention it to the dr that it happens once in a while. She said its normal and he will get frightened but just to turn him on his side.

Here you go!

Colic, Reflux, & Crying

Most babies have a degree of reflux, the thing to think about is does it bother him? If he is gaining weight well, not in pain or discomfort when eating or inbetween feeds and can sleep ok then it's nothing to worry about and he will grow out of it. If it is bothering him then you need to go back to your GP and discuss it further.
