Seen as so many kids are now school age, that word is kind of important and the oops thing is annoying :-\
I know the reason for it, but it doesn't help at all anyway.

Or they say "listening in" or "will post later". And do that as well. Maybe there can be a sticky explaining the original issue or something?

Yeah, I think most people join posts either to support the OP or to get some ideas for themselves - and that seems like a genuine reason to be there, for me.

technically, it's important to one area of the world....in the US we say grading. :P but I agree with you that it is annoying. it was far less annoying than people marking their spots, though.

you all have a valid point, though. (although I do still delete some one-liners on occasion) it's worth a shot. I've taken it out of the censor.
oh, and it is in the community guidelines already:

It's been fairly irritating when i've been marking papers for uni in the past- I never even THOUGHT to say 'grading'!
