Title: is burping the baby considered activity
Post by: moonkim713 on December 25, 2013, 17:19:25 pm
I have a two week old and can't figure out to do for activity time.  Usually after feeding baby tends to dose off.  Should I wake her up and entertain her somehow? really confused... Tracy Hogg never mentioned burping during activity time...

Yes, it counts as activity time if lo is awake during burping. At 2 weeks there's not going to be much other than feeding, burping, and bum changing before sleep is needed again.

Yep!  Or in our case, diaper/feed/burp/let babe doze on shoulder for a time to keep the formula in her.

When it comes to burping, sometimes she doesn't burp so we continue to burp her which causes her to wake up.  Then she can stay up for a while and its hard to put her back to sleep.  Do we have to get a burp after every feeding?  And how long should we burp her after breastfeed?

So far all three of my girls have needed burping during and after a bf...but they generally were awake, except for DD3, who rarely opened her eyes those first few weeks! She is also the hardest to get a burp out of!
