Title: 3 year old girls...
Post by: *Becky* on April 06, 2014, 07:36:36 am
Just wondering what type of things your 3 year old girls like to do?
Also - do they play with playmobil or sylvanian families or similar? I would like to get M into something we can collect and add to. H has his lego and she does quite like putting hats on the people but I can't quite go for 'girly' lego somehow!

What do yours like?

Audrey's a bit younger but she really likes her Happyland people and her Playmobil carry-along dolls house. The tiniest pieces, I have put in a tub to save for later, but she can spend ages making daddy sit on the toilet, putting baby in the oven, the dog in the fridge etc.

Mine loved playmobil at that age -- also any doll they could dress up as well.  And dress up clothes too.  Do you have Megablox over there?  Girls really liked them at that age as they were fairly easy to put together.

We have a dolls house that DD plays with loads. And we can add things to it as she gets bigger and able to manage the smaller pieces. You can get some lovely bits and pieces on eBay.

How funny - I was thinking of posting the exact same qn this afternoon!  So glad you asked.

L's favourite activities ATM are (in no particular order):
- play doh
- drawing/painting/sticking etc
- playing tea parties/birthday parties/weddings/nursery school with her dolls and cuddly toys
- playing in a den (aka blanket over gap between two arm chairs) with dolls, tea set, her cooker, whatever else takes her fancy
- duplo
- happy land (but perhaps she needs something for slightly older LOs now)
- building with one of those sets of coloured wooden blocks/bricks
- train set

She also goes through phases of being into jigsaw puzzles.

Her birthday isn't until September but I was thinking of getting her a 'proper' dolls house that we can add to,  or more train set stuff but I think she'd prefer a dolls house (although I'd prefer the train set ;) )

My niece got a sylvanian family hotel and two families for her second birthday a few weeks ago and apparently loves it.

I wondered about this Cath but also thought maybe it was for older kids? Is it quite fiddly??

I used to play with them when I was school-aged and loved them so I was surprised they got her one so young.  I think they removed a few really small bits but apparently she loves it.

I think Nicola (cuckoochick) got C some sylvanian families for a present recently (birthday or Xmas..) so you could ask her what C thinks of it.
