Title: Tongue thrust back at 10months?
Post by: Kellyjs on May 08, 2014, 18:51:28 pm
Hi all,

Just wondering about this.. For the last couple of days DD has been opening her mouth for food (be it finger food or mashed food), then as soon as it gets into her mouth her tongue is thrusting it out? Has anyone experienced this before? It's taking a lot of effort to feed her atm.. Smaller mouthfuls and I have to keep pushing the food back in which can't be very pleasant for her!

TIA

Hmm, my DS2 is a bit younger (7.5 m) but doing something similar...the only ideas I've come up with are that either he doesn't prefer the taste of the food I'm offering or he just isn't that hungry?  If she's teething, that might also affect her eating...

Glad I'm not the only one!

I went and made her an old favourite today and she wolfed that down, no problems. Perhaps it is the consistency of a few things I've been giving her. I think she's teething too, but she's only got one more to come through for now. It's taking its time  ::)

Thanks so much for the reply
