Title: What bottles?
Post by: Eva's Mummy on June 26, 2014, 18:57:29 pm
With DD1 we used Dr Brown bottles as she has reflux but as they are a bit of a pain to clean and you need to carry all the differnt parts when you go out i was thinking of going for a different brand this time.

What have you all used and liked?

We use MAM  bottles but tbh they are a bit of a pain too!!! Have to assemble very carefully of they'll leak at the bottom....but the only ones that both DDs accepted.

We have only ever used a Tommee Tippee & have never had any problems. Shape of them also lends itself well to self-feeding when they are a bit older :-)

We used Avent, Dr Brown and Tommee Tippee! I liked the vari flow teats on the TT bottles as they are the only ones that don't have the constant drip and should be good for a breastfed baby as they are controlled by how hard the baby sucks.

We started with Playtex VentAir then moved to drop-ins.  Drops-ins are great because the liners are already sterile so you don't need to sterilize the bottle, just the nipples :)

We started with Tommee Tippee. They are great. Easy to carry around bc they are small. You have different teats to chose form and easy for the baby to hold.
Now use dr Brawn too. For carrying it around I have the bottle ready with all the bits place and just add the formula and water. Or I just
use the when out.

We used dr browns for ds and I agree they are a pain to clean and not very portable since you can't mix the bottle with the insert in and there are so many pieces but are great for gas or reflux issues. For dd we used the drop ins they were good but he made a mess with them so we went to the Avent and she did good with those. I likes them bc they have a wide opening making it easier t clean, but bc the wider opening they are a little harder to fit in pockets in the diaper bag.
