Title: Bedtime snacks?
Post by: BabyKain12 on August 05, 2014, 02:42:17 am
Need new ideas for snack for a 21 mo. We have dinner at about 6, snack at 8:30, and bed at 9. I need ideas on healthy snacks that won't give too much energy. We've bored him on things like fruit and grain bars, pbj, veggie straws... We need things that are very easy to give, messy is ok, something that can be either given withno prep, or something that can be made in batches and stored... Thx

When you say he's bored of the snacks you're giving do you think perhaps he just isn't so hungry before bed now as he used to be?

Pancakes?

He asks for a snack, usually a bit earlier than normal lately, but on days when we have dinner a bit late and skip the snack he wakes up asking for breakfast at 3-4 am... So he may be asking for a snack because it's routine, but he's not full enough to last the night

How about just saving another portion of dinner, for snack I mean?

crepes with protein filling (scrambled egg, or chicken salad) - can be made ahead
crackers and cheese
hardboiled egg...?
