Wondering if anyone experience a forceful letdown? Do you express a bit before latching baby on?

Do you feed that your letdown is more forceful when you have gone a long time between feeds? Expressing before hand would help in that case. If you have a forceful letdown under normal circumstances, then expressing should be a last resort as it would be signalling your body to make more. Instead you could try a different nursing position or unlatch baby when the letdown occurs and re-latch after a bit? Here is a link which would help you http://kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/fast-letdown/

Have you seen our FAQ on the issue? Oversupply and Overactive (Forceful) Let-Down

I had oversupply and Overactive letdown and found nursing in a laid back position the greatest help.
