Title: Ideas for finger food which can be storaged (10mo)
Post by: Martini~ on December 07, 2014, 18:44:55 pm
Hi ladies, any good ideas for finger food for a 10mo?
We are just starting proper finger food as that's the moment LO started to show any interest in food like that:).
I am looking for recipes which I can make during a weekend and storage for week or give carers at the nursery. Preferably savory not sweet. He eats everything right now I think, no food allergies here.

TIA!!!

What about steamed or baked vegetables? I often have them both a couple of days after cooking (with hummus, yummmmm!) so it should be fine for the start of the week. Baked squash and sweet potatoes could be frozen if you wish.

Mini omelettes could also work, as could strips of cheese or ham.

Baked/cooked veggies are very good to consider, thanks!

I thought of some rice sticks, but don't know how to prepare them from rice cereal...:) I had some Jill rice crackers but they are covered in juice.

I read somewhere the idea for sticks from avocado but don't know where is the recipe...:/

I general I am looking for ideas for cooked/baked things which are going to be dried? so I ie can give a pack of those to the nursery for a whole week.

Sorry, not sure what you mean by "dried"?  Do you mean dehydrated like "dried fruit" sultanas, prunes, banana chips etc??

There are lots of things you can batch cook then freeze, would this be an option to pack for nursery?  They could keep them frozen or you could bag them in individual portions and lift out each day to defrost and take?
