Title: Is this my problem?
Post by: BabyKain12 on December 31, 2014, 15:05:13 pm
4mo has woken up every hour since the day he was born. For the most part I attributed that to being a newborn and in a house with a toddler, thinking maybe he was being woke up so he couldn't get to sleep well enough at night. Fast forward to now, we're on a rough 3hr easy with 1.5hr activity. Toddler is adjusting so baby gets full naps without being woken up mostly. But he is still waking hourly at night. I did bw schedules with my 2yo and it went almost flawlessly and he's a perfect sleeper now. Should I move my 4mo to a 4hr easy?? Could that be what's wrong? I'm at a loss and so tired...

Yes he probably does need a little more A time now.

How does he fall asleep though? Does he have any props like feeding to sleep, being rocked, paci/ dummy?

Does he seem uncomfortable in his sleep? Just wondering if discomfort from reflux or intolerances could be waking him.

It's not reflux per his dr, but he is a bit stuffy but he has been since he's been home. We pat him to sleep and we cosleep and use a paci. But it's generally not the paci he wants so he refuses it. Patting sometimes helps

I should add that we have no problems with naps. He will nap 1.5-2 hours for every nap

I'd try to reduce his dependency on you by reducing the patting gradually.

Are you happy with the cosleeping and are you planning to do it in the longrun? Or would you like to get him sleeping in the cot?
