Title: Shorter feeding time
Post by: mmoats12 on January 22, 2015, 00:51:57 am
My baby is 3 months this weekend, and just the last two days, has all of a sudden gone from feeding for around 20-25mins to 5-10mins. Is this normal for this age? I know they start to get more efficient eaters as they get older, but this seems like a bit of a drastic change. He has a wet/dirty diaper every time I change him, and appears to be happy and content after feeding. I haven't weighed him, but will do that this weekend.

I got the same problem w LO when he was this age (wk12)
He has just back to long feeding time this wk (wk 22).

I think because they more alert w the surrounding cause he was easy to drop of breast even just a cough from....neighbor...

My LO had wet nappies as well but not heavy & he still gained weight at that time (0.5kg/wk :( *sad*).
However, after that period he just back to normal & I can feel him getting bigger straight away. I think this wk he gains 500gr at least :))

Just try to ...encourage LO taking more (to reassure urself :). Hehe) & I think that is OK for overfeed w BF  :-*

Yes it's completely normal. Mine were down to 6 mins 8 mins each by this age.

Ma of Bo, why are you sad? 0.5kg is loads to gain in a week!

im always worry about that. So I always.... force him to take a bit more after he pop out of breast. :))
For me, overfeed by BM is... OKay so I just.... go for it. Hehe  ::)
