Title: 6.5 mo struggling with nap length
Post by: Christchurch on February 08, 2015, 12:40:44 pm
Hi, just put DS on 4 hour easy.  Wake at 7, 2.5A time and down around 6:30/7.  Started routine re-establishment 4 days ago.  Breatfeed, no,solids yet.

Struggling with naps, especially morning nap.

He has always only done 30 min naps.  Normally wakes happy and ready to play.  Pu/PD extension not working.

What other options are there?  Today he went  straight down at 9:30, slept to 10, meant to,go to 11 according to easy.  How do we extend, or if waking happy and doesn't want to,sleep how do we adjust the easy?  Do we just need more time establishing the routine?

Thanks

Wake to sleep and/or stretch his A time a little more would be my first go-tos.

I agree that you should try stretching the A time a little more. It is quite short for the age-average, and PUPD is less likely to work when the A times aren't appropriate for the age.

Thanks for responding.

He seems so tied when we put him down and has such a restless sleep.

Thanks,
Chris

He will be tired honey because they get OT overall from all the UT naps. The best way to deal with it is to push out those a times. His sleep would probably be less restless and more rejuvenating too.
