Title: 6 Weeks EASY
Post by: Slpst5 on June 22, 2015, 10:56:44 am
Anyone willing to share their EASY for a 6 week old. I feel like I'm focusing too much on the clock and not enough on cues. I'm going to be tracking my times and posting mine for feedback later but curious to everyone else's schedule.

Hi there, I no longer have a 6 week old  ;) but wanted to say at that young age you should definitely be looking for cues and really just learning about your baby and enjoying them. When you start to recognise the cues then a routine may well fall into place after that. I had a bad sleeper and so watched the clock as he had no cues and looking back now I was fighting a loosing battle.

Enjoy your LO and congrats  ;D

My little one is 6 weeks old and her EASY routine has made my life - and her life - a lot easier... But I totally agree with the previous poster... Although I use this routine as a basis i 100% follow her cues when putting her to bed. (The one yawn strategy wasn't working for us so now I follow her fussiness which pretty much kicks off bang on clock cue of 1 hr 30 after she's woken up.) I must say that she won't sleep after her 4pm feed so we have an overtired  baby come  bedtime. Currently we are working out - trial and error - what works. Also we are not currently doing a dream feed or cluster feedings. Hope this helps as a basis for you...

7am - E
7.45 - A
8.15 - S
8.45 - Y

10 - E
10.45 - A
11.15 - S
11.30 - Y

1pm - E
1.45 - A
2.15 - S
2.30 - Y

4 - E
4.45 - A
5.15 - S
5.30 - Y

7 - E
7.45 - A (bath and bedtime routine)
8.15 - S
8.30 - Y

Then waking at 12 and 4 for night time feeds.

At that age we were doing a general EAS and trying to follow cues. 6 weeks was also a WW for us so there were more feedings. Following the pattern of EAS will help the most and keeping track to see what A time works best. But it's still hard and a bit unpredictable at this age.
