Title: 5am WUs after DLS :-(
Post by: rachaelcole on October 31, 2015, 05:30:39 am
Hi

My 2 yr old (2 in Nov) is still waking at 05.00 every single day. She goes to bed at 19.00 & naps for around 1.5 hrs between 12/12.30-13.30/14.00.

She has moved from cot to bed due to the arrival of her brother but doesn't get up immediately, instead she turns on her light & chats, then starts whimpering when she's bored.

I need advice as to how to push WU back? I worry that 11.5 hrs total sleep isn't enough at her age-she is getting so tired!

Thank you

Hi, she could be having some birthday shenanigans with nearly being 2, sleep can go about haywire.

Have you tried having an earlier bed time? Just for a few days then if she sleeps from day 6pm till 5sm it's a good 11 hour night with a nap overall sleep 12.5 hours. If you get some a good night I'd be tempted to try pushing nap a bit later by 15 mins to get nearer to 1pm.

I had a notorious EW from 18 months-2.5yrs think a lot was just developmental and teeth to be honest...sorry  ;)
