Title: E.A.S.Y schedule in place - but do I stick to the same clock times each day?
Post by: babyg15 on March 06, 2016, 10:03:08 am
Hi there,

My 12 week old has naturally been on the EASY schedule since birth.
After reading Tracy's book, I'm confused as to if I stick to he same time schedule each day?

For example, do I wake her up at 6am every day and aim for her schedule to follow the clock from then onwards? Or do I just go with whatever time she wakes up naturally?

Hope this make sense!
Thanks in advance

EASY is a routine rather than a schedule so it's fine to have a bit of variation and just work on A times from when she wakes up. Some people find having a wake up 'window' useful so (for example) not starting the day before 6am and waking LO if they are still asleep by 7am. But over time WU tends to settle a bit anyway and LO will often develop their own natural waking time, so it may be that you find things naturally occur at similar times every day anyway :)

Thanks Katherine!

So what does that mean for bedtime? If I am trying to stick to a 7pm bedtime, but my times change slightly during the day.. so I just shorten the final A time so that I can put her to bed at the same time every night?

Bedtime can vary a little if you want, but if you'd like to stick to the same one just put her down at that time every day and if necessary wake her up from her last nap so she's ready for bed :)
