Title: How long daytime?
Post by: mary12 on August 16, 2016, 17:55:59 pm
Hello

What is a normal waking time for a Child 3 without a nap.
So how long does your Child stay awake? Without getting ot.

Hi there, I think it really varies from child to child. Also if you've just dropped a nap the day would be shorter than a child who hadn't napped for a while.

For example at 3 my DS1 would've woke around 6.30 had no nap and been in bed by 7 but he hadn't napped since 30 months old.

If you were still having a nap then the day could be 13 hours long but it really depends on each child's needs.

Thank you I understand. My daughter stopt napping with 27 months....she is almost 3.
But I find it difficult to see when to bring her to bed.
She goes now in at 7...or 6.45 and Wakes at 6.

She sleeps now good. But before I did bring her at 19.30 and she slept till 6.30....we had a lot of night wakening.  Some body did suggest to bring her to bed at 6 or 6.30. Now she sleeps good but I don t know if I can go back to her old bedtime?
Also I don't now what is average to childeren with no nap. O mean she did look okay but then we got night wakenings.

I thought normal with nap was here mentioned not longer then 13 hours. So i was thinking what now without nap?I don t want again night wakenings.

At 3yo my DS1 did a 10.5hr day and slept 13.5hrs overnight. He did this from the time he dropped the nap at 30mo until I moved his EW brother into his room when DS1 was 39mo.

DS2 dropped the nap at 35mo and slept 12hrs at night (so had a 12hrs day) for the next year at least.

According to the NHS a 3yo would typically get 11.5-12hrs at night.
