Hi ladies,
My DD is 3.5 years old and she is down to a 20m nap. After an odd NND she needs a 30m nap the next day to catch up. Last night she was up at night tossing and turning for 3 hrs because of fever so now I don't know how long of a nap to offer her today. What would you suggest? TIA
-
I'd prob let her have a good nap if she's poorly, let her rest the fever away x
-
Just to add she then woke up really early because she had a nightmare.
Thanks Zoe so by good nap do you mean let her nap as long as she wants until she wakes on her own?
-
I never woke mine if they were properly ill x
-
Yes if she's ill I'd just let her sleep x
-
Thank you ladies I really appreciate you quick response.
Also would you try and keep her up for a bit to have her nap at somewhat reasonable time? I'm afraid that if I put her for a nap really early then she won't last till the evening.
Last night she went to bed at 10 PM then woke up at 2 AM and since then she was awake for 2 hrs then was trying to fall asleep but was tossing and turning until she woke up screaming from a nightmare at about 5:45 AM. Her ususal WU is at 8AM and she usually naps at around 4:30/5:00 PM. But there is no way she will last till her ususal nap time after waking up at 5:45 AM

I'd probably be led by her if she's still poorly and catching up c
-
Yes me too, no point in pushing things when they aren't themselves. Just let her nap when tired, she may even do more than one if really not herself and don't be scared of an early bedtime if she looks like she needs it x

Ok ladies thank you

OMG she won't go to sleep at all because she is scared of monsters and spiders. We tried "a monster spray" we left the light on as well as the night light but she is scared of shadows. We tried staying in her bedroom with her and tried bringing her in our bed but she won't sleep because she only used to sleeping in her crib by herself in a dark. Any advise? I don't know what to do

Oh dear I remember this phase, nightlight?
-
She has a nightlight in her bedroom all the time I assume it's not bright enough. So she ended up napping on her mattress in our bedroom. But we had a hell of a time getting her to sleep at bedtime until I turned on a table light. She passed right out after that which is shocking to me because she could never fall asleep when it's that bright. Hopefully she has good night.
How long did your phase last?
-
I honestly can't remember, he still has a nightlight now plus a new red light that shines in the corner. It's been on and off for a good while.
I try and read only nice short BT story now that has no reference to anything other than nice happy stuff x
-
I'm gonna do that too now and no more watching ' my little pony" because she gets scared of all the magic and powers in that cartoon.
