My 3.5 year old has always been a great sleeper. Sleeping about 12 hours a night no Wakings no real issues. Lately he's been wired at bedtime and is having a hard time falling asleep but he is exhausted. He's sleeping through ok but is then waking early around 630 ish when he usually sleeps until 730-8. I've tried an earlier bedtime with no luck. Just wondering if it's just a phase ? He's clearly tired during the day and he gets that wild wound up thing especially around 4 pm. Any tips

Just giving you a little bump x

I think it sounds developmental to me...half birthday shenagins. Can you give him some quiet activities about 4pm like colouring in or puzzles along with a snack just to have a rest and get some energy.

He's approaching his half birthday at the end of the month. Yes we try to do quiet things at that time. Tonight it's 9 pm and he's still up in his room calling me up 20 times. He's usually asleep by 730 and he's also up early before 7 when he usually sleeps until almost 8!

Could you perhaps try an earlier BT just to see if he's OT and settles a bit quicker x

I did try that for two nights one night it worked and one it didn't. Last night he didn't fall asleep until 945! When he usually goes to sleep at 730! He's going to be exhausted today especially with school.

I'd prob go super early BT like 6pm and see what happens, either that or ride it out!x

Just hoping its a phase. He's always gone down easy and slept through the night.
