Title: 7 month old: what do 30+ mins of mantra cries mean?
Post by: VnessMorris on March 22, 2017, 13:54:02 pm
Hi ladies,

DD2 has been textbook throughout the day and night. But for the past 3 nights she has been mantra crying for 30+mins around 11pm - 1am. We can see that she is still asleep via camera (eyes closed, not moving much) and when we do finally go in we normally have to wake her up and feed her.

Just wondering if we should just let her mantra cry (keeping the rest of the family up) or do we do something else to help her go back into a deep sleep? She's also starting to WU between 6-6:30am; not really an EW but wondering if there's a pattern. She's also congested (since Saturday) which also coincides with sudden start of these long mantra cries at night.

Her EASY routine is quite solid:

ATs of 3:10-3:30
Naps are usu 1:15-1:30
BT is usu 6:45-7pm

Yesterday's routine:

WU 6:10am self play in crib
E 6:24a BF
Solids @8:11am
A. 3:34
S. 1:15 (9:45am - 11am)

E. 11:06am BF
Solids @12:35pm
A. 3:05ish
S. 1:45 (2:15pm - 4pm)

E. 4pm BF
Solids @5:30pm
Top up @6:35pm BF
A. 3:02
S. 7:02pm

Mantra cries 11:30pm - 12 Midnight
E. 5oz formula with DH

WU today 6:10am ish self play in crib until 6:35am

TIA!
V.

Hi V,
I would attend to her... seems like discomfort.  Any other symptoms? What was her previous WU time?

Thanks for the response, ginger413!

Past previous days (where she would mantra cry off and on between 11pm - 1am) WU's were 5:50am and 6:29am.

And I think you are right about the discomfort...she's less congested now and no longer mantra cries...she had 1 NF at 3am and slept through to WU time of 7am today. We'll definitely feed and comfort her if she does this again in the night.  :'(

Thanks!
V.

My pleasure!
Glad she's on the mend! That's a very good night, I'd say.  :)
