Hi
My lo is now 6 weeks old. Starting 4 weeks he was sleeping fine upto 5 hours at night. He suddenly became inconsolable during night time and naps around a week ago. He wakes up crying and is very gassy. We were both recently treated for thrush and he was prescribed daktarin oral gel. Could this be the reason? He continually grunts and groans in his sleep as well. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Hello, I'm not one of the BW experts just another mum. Google 'silent reflux' does it sound like that?
-
I doubted silent reflux as well. My previous child had it. But the unbelievable gassiness is why he is not sleeping and it is not associated with silent reflux, is it?
-
Often refluxy babies seem to be quite gassy, or at least give the appearance of being so. Reflux can also be associated with food allergies, especially milk. Does he show any other signs of that? Does he have any dry skin/eczema? What are his poos like?

Bless you and your LO. For gas I used colicez, I believe infacol also does the same thing. It's just drops that help break up gas bubbles and worked great for my LO. I also purchased a clevamama sleep positioner/wedge, this keeps the babies head slightly elevated.
Hope you figure out what's troubling your LO!
