All,
My three-year-old used to be a great sleeper, I followed the PU/PD method when she was a baby. About a month ago, she started coming out of her room a bunch after we put her to bed at night. It's gone from coming out 2 or 3 times to about 8-10 times in an hour. I have tried taking a stuffed animal away every time she comes out and that has cut it down to 1 or 2 times, but now she has started coming out at 1 or 2 am. I have no idea what to do.
I cut out her nap, and for the first three days it was amazing. She did not come out of her room at all. Last night, she came out three times between 130 am and 215 am. Any ideas on why or what to do?

Can you please post your routine Honey and for how long you've been there?

Hi - do you still have a nap? If so it may need cutting down now if she is undertired at night time.

Right now she wakes up at around 7 and takes a nap from 1-2 pm. She goes to bed (after stories) around 8 pm. She has had this routine for a few months. She started doing this bedtime behavior about a month ago and it has gotten worse over the past 2 weeks.

I would say that as pp says being under tired. At 3yo some may need to drop the nap completely to have a good night. Is the nap 1h? Have you thought of cutting to even 20min?

I haven't tried that short. I have cut it completely for a few days. She still comes out at first (only once or twice though), but then seems really tired by day 3. When I put her down for naps, she still falls asleep immediately, and I have to wake her at the hour point. I feel like she can't quite handle it.
