Title: How to make up for lost sleep
Post by: Girlstar28 on July 13, 2017, 18:13:00 pm
How do you have a 22 month old who is only clocking 10-11 hours in the 24 hour period of sleep get that extra bit.  Mine is chronically OT but never makes up for it with a better nap.  Early bedtimes don't work for her either, she just wakes up earlier.  I feel like we're in a bind and vicious cycle.

These last few challenging days:

Awake ranging times from 5:15/5:40/5:56/6:30
Naptime trying for 12:30 but is asleep by 1-1:30 and sleeps only for an hour and won't resettle.
Bedtime 8-8:20.

Saw dentist yesterday no evidence of 2 year molars.  Hasn't been sick.

Was awoken today at nap after only 45 min due to construction on the street outside her bedroom :(. Has a graco sound machine, Dyson fan and black out shades plus shutters on top.

Hi sorry for the day, it could be developmental with her 2nd birthday coming up. I'd say that nap needs to be later and seeing that she doesn't fall asleep until 1-1.30 I'd not bother putting her to bed till 1/1.15 anyway.
My DS1 had a phase at this age where naps and nights were short and it was down to language explosion that happens around 2yr old.
Have you tried an EBT as often the EW can be from accumulated OT? I'd prob try around 7pm if she's only having 45/1hour nap.

Thank you but do you think the wake time in the AM is too long and these short naps are due to being overtired?

45 min nap is mostly UT.
