Could someone please help with our little boy day nap and early wakeup problem?
He often sleeps through the night with occasionally wake up @3/330 and wake up at 5/530
Our day is like this. He is bottlefeed compeletly, total of around 20oz/day
Wake up -5:30
Milk - 6am
Breakfast - 7am
Nap1 - 8am (sleeps for 1hr, sometimes 30')
Milk - 11
Lunch 11:30
Nap2 - 12 (depending on 1st nap, we try to keep his A time to 3hrs, sleeps for 1hr15)
Milk - 2pm
Snack – 3/3.30
Catnap – 4pm for around 30’
Milk – 6pm
Bedtime - 6:30 (usually asleep within 10-15 mins)
He often sleeps through the night, sometimes wakeup at 3/330ish; if so he’ll go back to sleep after 20/30'
We try to keep his day Awake time a total of 9 hours, sometimes 3-3-3 sometimes 2-3-4
Much appreciated for your help

Hi Justin :)
5:30am is a pretty reasonable time to wake for the day when his BT is 6:30pm. What's your ideal WU time/ideal BT (keep in mind you might only get one of them).
At this age, almost all babies are on 2 long naps, having dropped the catnap around 5-7months of age.

We'd like his WT to be after 6. Guess we need to push his BT later then
About catnap. If he can sleep 2 naps total of 330-4 hours then he doesn't need catnap. The problem is he only has 2 nap of 1 hour each. Thus he needs his catnap in the afternoon before his BT @ 630pm

Ok, so if you push his A times out, he should nap longer than 1hr each, then he won't need the catnap. I'd start with 3hr A time minimum (you could feasibly go to 3:15-3:30 at this age without too much of an issue) and see how that goes for a few days before increasing again. The most important one to push is that first A time - increasing that will naturally bring his WT in the morning later. If you're looking to achieve 6am WT, you'd want to have that first nap no earlier than 9am but I suspect it'll end up closer to 9:30/10am in the coming weeks.

Hi becj86,
Tried to push his 1st A time to 3 hours today, he goes down easily and sleep for 1h15'. 2nd A time was 3h15' and he slept for 1h15' as well. I'll try to keep his A time to 3 hours and above as you suggested for 3 days to see how it goes. Thanks for your help.
