What are some good highchair activities for a 16 month old? We do crayons and playdough but he’s still more interested in eating them or throwing eveything onto the floor.
-
playing with/eating different foods
percussion instruments, maybe with some music on
a few duplo blocks, board, characters etc
stacking cups and things to put inside them
a shape sorter
a toy with buttons/levers to press e.g. to make different sounds
lift-the-flap or touch and feel books
aquadoodle
are these activities ideally ones he can do independently or with some help?

We often do paint in the highchair...either finger paint or with brushes.

Great ideas. Hopefully the throw eveything onto the floor stage with end soon lol. I spend most of the time picking things up off the ground

Maybe set up the activities on the floor instead? ;)

Or put a basket/tub on the floor for him to drop/throw things into, then repeat...

My DD used to LOVE spooning lentils from one container to another at that age. Basically she loved digging and playing with dirt when we were out, so I tried to recreate it at home and found that lentils were a good substitute (also she couldn't choke on them if she decided to try them).

That sounds like a great idea :)
