Title: holding down arms when shush patting?
Post by: mummybunney on April 22, 2018, 17:12:24 pm
Hi
Our 4month old is getting better at sleep, however we are still working slowly on getting him to fall asleep independent and mainly doing a combo of P.U./PD and shush pat.Problem is I know that they often try and self soothe by sucking their fingers etc however doing this seems to do the opposite and keep him awake currently.Rubbing his eyes and sucking his fingers. The only way i can get him to fall asleep is to remove his hands from his face and hold them on his chest. Is this a prop?

No I wouldn't have said it ws a prop - it is something that you can remove and as his hands are free when he is asleep it is something that he will get used to. It is a bit like 'holding through the jolts' HTH x
