Title: Almost 9 month old night waking
Post by: MommaA on July 02, 2018, 03:24:20 am
My almost 9 month old son still wakes in the night but not consistently at all. Sometimes 1:00, sometimes 4:00. He's never slept through the night. We put him to bed asleep around 6:30 pm and has a 5-6 oz bottle before that. How can I tell if it's habit or if he needs to feed? He eats loads during the day and I honestly don't think I can get him to eat any more. He has 3 meals and 3 bottles per day. He sometimes drinks the full 6 oz bottle in the night, but sometimes only 4 oz. He is generally a good napper (two 1.5 hour naps). I'm so confused. Help?

This is probably part of the problem. Usually by this age, LO's are having one long nap and a shorter one. Do you mind posting your EAS?

What does he do when he wakes at night?

What sorts of foods is he eating? Are they high in calories? He may be looking for milk in the night if he's eating lots of volume of food that's not high enough in energy/fats/necessary nutrients, etc.
