Title: 2 yr old... need help with total sleep time
Post by: Abbyw on February 04, 2019, 14:56:44 pm
So my DD1 was a textbook/angel baby... aside from the regular sleep regressions etc she's been a great sleeper.

She started waking up at about 615 (which isnt crazy, I know) but she used to sleep till after 7.

I tried capping her naps, changing bedtime etc but so far nothing has helped and I'm just looking for the right combination of adjustments that will get her to sleep later.

She naps at playgroup at 11.30. I've asked the teacher if she can push the nap later and she told me DD1 doesn't want to stay up when all the other kids are going down to nap.

So, should I cap her nap? She usually sleeps for 2 hours. And what time should she go to sleep?

Has she just turned 2? There is a regression then which mucks up sleep - I would just ride it out.

She did just turn 2... but the early waking has been going on for some time...
But I'll give it another week and see what happens.

Just for reference though, if I put her to bed at 630 pm, and she wakes up at 630 am, how long should her nap be?

So she is getting 12 hours at night - that is a very good amount of time -maybe try a later bedtime?

Have you red through this?

I'd say with 12 hours night sleep it's probably only going to change with a shift to a later bedtime.
Average sleep at 2yo would be about 13 hours. Something like 10.5 - 12 hours night and 1-2.25 hours naps.
