Title: Stopping bf
Post by: eva026 on May 20, 2019, 11:07:31 am
Hey there,

I think our BF journey is coming to an end. Dd is 20months old and I have been only feeding her if she asks, so we have been down to 1-2 bf.
This weekend I was away and she stayed with grandma, yesterday I got back and DH did BT so no bf. This morning she didn’t ask so I didnt offer. I’m not overly full or anything but I’m worried about getting blocked - or is that not going to happen at this stage? It’s been 4 days since if bf last and I’m not sure what I do now? Do I express a bit just in case or leave it till I feet discomfort?

After 4 days if you aren't uncomfortable I'd say your body is dealing with it.
My youngest stopped cold turkey at 17mo on 2 feeds and I had no issues. My body just dealt with it.

Well dropping bf that time was a false alarm. She was back at it the following day, although literally 2-3 sips a day. Right now it’s been since Thursday without a bf and I’m not a happy camper. No lumps or hard places but I’m tender and uncomfortable. Do I have to express by hand or sth or will it reabsorb? How does it work?
