Title: Naps getting shorter & EW - 8m/o
Post by: MiniNs on June 10, 2019, 09:24:30 am
Hi - DS2 is aaaaalmost 8 months (next week) And lately I’ve been struggling with OT as his naps seem to be getting shorter.

Our EASY *used* to look like this:

WU 6:00-6:30
S: 9:00-10:45/11
S: 14:00-15:30
BT: 18:30/45

He hasn’t sttn a few times, sometimes wakes around 3:30/4 but is often easily resettled with some ssh/pat.

Recently, his naps have dropped to 1hr 20 mins, for both and we are getting EW between 5:15-5:30 and he is wide awake and won’t resettle.

I’m then struggling to get to the next nap/BT without OT. I’ve tried bring the next nap earlier to meet his 3hr ish A time, but then BT ends up needing to be at dinner time! I’ve tried set naps, but he still wakes around 15:00 and then BT is getting closer to 18:00 and then we have the NW at 3:30/4 and then EW.

Any advice on some tweaks to routine? Is is A time wrong?

It's possible that he's only physically tired and not mentally tired (or the other way around) so if he not crawling yet try not time to practice that or if he's mobile, then maybe more time outside to observe the world or reading stories to him.

Legs not yet mobile and we’re doing lots of tummy time to encourage it. He’s still settling for the nap in the first place fine... he’s just not sleeping for as long as he used to.
