Title: baby safe feeder?
Post by: opp2 on July 27, 2005, 15:50:02 pm
Have any of you used this device yet. I heard about it with my first but couldn't find one. I found one for my son and am planning on using it. I just wondered what your results were with it. What fruits and veg did you put in it, how soft etc.

thanks

I put so many different foods in the safe feeder:  peaches, bananas, any fruit, biter biscuits, popsicles (great for when my ds is teething), etc.

I just loved using it because I felt so much safer.  I was always afraid of my ds choking.

I had one but I didn't use it that much.  I was never about choking for some reason. You should see what ds puts in his mouth!!  Anyway, it works great with bananas or any fruit that is pretty soft, pears, peaches etc.  Frozen bananas work great for teething!

I'm a big fan. It wasn't so much the choking but the fact that he could hold it and feed himself. He could suck on some puree but wouldn't take it in a spoon. I put pretty much everything in it! The little bags are a mega-pain to clean though. Eventually they get too gross (especially after banana) and you need to throw them away. One lasted about a week with me. I stopped using it when he was on to table foods, pasta, toast etc.

I absolutely love it.  I'm not one to make my own baby food, but I am enjoying giving DD some of the foods we normally eat.  I've tried watermelon, frozen bananas, biter biscuits, cataloupe.  She loves it, too!
