Title: How much awake time at 15 months old?
Post by: Carmela's Mom on July 30, 2005, 16:26:47 pm
My DD was doing great on one nap a day...her day was this...

6-6:30 wake up
7:00 milk
8:00 breakfast
11:30 lunch
12 - 2 nap
2:30 snack
5:30 dinner
7:00 bedtime

Perfect.  Well now all of a sudden she's not falling asleep at naptime or bedtime.  She doesn't cry, but just plays and talks for 1/2 hour and then starts whining.  I normally go in around 12:30 p.m. and pat/shush her to sleep...the same for bedtime.  I've been going in at 7:30 and pat/shushing her to sleep.  Should I try putting her to bed 1/2 hour later each time?  How much awake time is normal at this age?

Thanks
Jackie

Hi

Can't speak from experience, but I looked it up in one of my sleep books for you -

For your LOs age - say's nap typically starts 1.00pm (+ or - 30min) w/ an am wake up anywhere from 6.00-7.30.

And bedtime from 7.00-8.00pm.

So if it was me, I would push them back as you were thinking.

Let us know how it goes.  Good luck!

Thanks so much!  Which book did you get that out of?  I love how precise it is!

Yes, it is a good addition to the BW.  The book is called: Good Night, Sleep Tight by Kim West.  She breaks down each chapter by age group.
