Title: how to handle seperation anxiety
Post by: thitz on August 04, 2005, 13:53:36 pm
Hello Everyone,

What are you supposed to do when you suspect seperation anxiety is coming into play when putting them down for a nap or bedtime?

We do our windown routine, half swaddle and lay her on her side sucking her thumb.  I leave the room because she knows how to go to sleep on her own.  Then 5 mins later she's crying, so I go in and as soon as I open the door she curls up to go to sleep, she doesn't need me to settle her.  So I leave the room again and this repeats a few times.  Also it seems if I stay in the room it takes her longer settle and she start crying and I have to do pu/pd and patting.

Any suggestions?
