Has anyone gone cold turkey with stopping nightfeeds (for breastfed babies) and if so did it work?

I haven't gone cold turkey, but I am having a little it of success with giving water instead. Last night I fed her at 11, gave her water at 2 and fed her at 4. I am hoping it will help her feed better in the day and that the water is so boring she won't bother waking for it!

I've found that Finn gets more angry if i offer water ....
